Our Successful Cyber Awareness Expo

This month, Start Tech held a Cyber Awareness Expo in the beautiful setting of Weston Park.

The event provided a day of insights and education for business leaders. It was great to see their readiness to embrace learning about the importance of cyber security.

Cyber security isn’t just for tech companies. It’s for everyone! It ensures your business is protected so it can grow and prosper. We took a deep dive into cyber security best practices with real-life scenarios. Later in the day, we also delved into how AI can help growth.

Our managing director, Ian, led an interactive session which used real examples to highlight potential weaknesses in a business and how to reduce risks.

Our sales executive, Lewis, led a session on empowering employees to mitigate cyber threats, and the team did a live demo of a cyber attack to show how easily your business can be compromised by cybercriminals.

There was a fireside chat with our client, Weston Park, to lift the lid on their Start Tech journey, which provided some great insights into what partnering with an MSP looks like.

Thank you to our speakers

We had three brilliant keynote speakers. Laura Wilkinson offered practical advice about cyber insurance.

Charlie McMurdie, Former Head of the Police National Cyber Crime Unit, was another keynote speaker. As the founder and leader of the UK’s first-ever national cybercrime unit, Charlie’s efforts in the Metropolitan Police established a world-class cybercrime enforcement body, making her a true trailblazer in cybersecurity.

Our final keynote speaker was Tom Welton, an AI & Automation Solutions Consultant from Pax8. Rather than just saying how great Microsoft’s AI tools are – he showed us! Tom gave a live demonstration showing how productivity can be unlocked with Copilot and Microsoft 365 apps.

A huge thank you to everyone who came to our Cyber Awareness Expo. It was such a success that we’re already working on plans for more events in 2025 – stay tuned!
