Start Tech are Proud to Support the Little Stars Charity

Little Stars is a local charity that gives a helping hand to vulnerable families in Shropshire. They help by supplying baby packs and essentials like cots, stair gates and pre-loved uniforms.

Start Tech are proud to support Little Stars in several ways. They receive our full-service IT package free of charge, which means they have a fully cyber-secure system, we’ll support any growth within the charity, and there will always be a friendly team at the end of the phone whenever they need us.

Recently, our managing director, Ian Groves, became Chair of the Board of Trustees for the charity. We’re really proud of Ian for stepping into this role – we know he’ll be instrumental in guiding the charity forward.

Here at Start Tech, some of the team use their annual volunteer days to work at Little Stars, and our company tuck shop raises funds too.

In the last quarter, we raised £436.10 for Little Stars through tuck alone, bringing our total donations to a whopping £1,659.07!

The Impact of Supporting Little Stars

Leanne from Little Stars passed on some information about how donations are used:

“Since January, we have spent £596.12 on equipment (14 stair gates, 12 mattresses), £16 on formula and £392.03 on nappies, wipes and toiletries.

Mattress costs vary depending on the size of the Moses basket, cot or cotbed, and stair gates are £25 each. This is a quote from a Mum: “Thank you so much for the stair gates. I truly appreciate it. Your support has been amazing! You have reduced my stress levels enormously. It would have taken me ages to be able to afford to get them… Thank you again.”

We currently have a waiting list for 5 cots and a toddler bed. Each of these will also need to be supplied with a new mattress. We also have a waiting list for 3 double buggies.”

As you can see, every donation comes with extra costs and administration, so we will keep supporting this brilliant charity in any way we can, and we hope you will too.
